HUNDREDS of millions of wire and plastic coathangers end up in landfill around the world each year. This worrying statistic was the motivation behind the development of a cardboard coathanger by three Melbourne mates.

The Green Hanger is made from 100 per cent recycled material gathered from postconsumer waste, so no trees are cut down to make it. The production process has also been designed so it doesn’t use any glues, inks or other nonrenewable resources.

The hangers are sturdy and can hold anything an old wire hanger can hold - skirts, jeans, shirts, dresses and jackets.
